Don't worry. You are safe in Canada.

And you mean to tell me you have no fears about what ANY individual might do with the expanded powers? I have serious concerns about McCain in regards to this issue and have voiced them -- by the way he's a Republican. And I have serious concerns about Obama, but I certainly haven't heard any of his supporters voice their concerns which for me is extremely disconcerting.

Are you really voting for Obama because he's a Democrat and he's not Bush? That's what it sounds like.
Of course I have fears about expanded executive powers! Have you read nothing I have written for the past 4 years? I have lambasted Bush for doing what he has done. I am not on board with it in the least. So what is the rational response at this point? Vote for the party who has expanded the powers of the executive to dangerous levels, or vote for the guy who has called for curtailing those powers? Seems pretty clear to me. If this is your chief concern, I fail to see how it is remotely possible for you to vote for McCain in good conscience.

Weren't you the one whining about Arch-like hyperbole earlier?

More hyperbole.
Which part of my post is hyperbole, Tex? Please, do tell!

And of course you think the article is full of crap. The only studies your brain can process are the ones that already agree with your views.

When the author of an article sets out with an agenda, it's often a simple matter to make facts and stats say what you want them to say, an art with which you are intimately familiar.

I understand why she wants to let it go -- so I'm happy to let it go.

You really are only talking about Bush and not Obama. Has he specifically said he WILL curtail said powers if elected, or is it an unknown? And what if, as always happens, ultimate power corrupts ... what then? He gets a pass because he is not Bush?

Because I've already answered those questions probably thirty-six times over the last two years, because he's clearly already made up about Obama so there would be nothing gained from the discussion, and because I've been told the election is turning me into a jerk.
