He always seemed like a pretty good fellow, based on listening to him in General Conference. I have no other frame of reference.

I remember him from way back in the 70s when my dad first started taking me to BYU basketball games almost always seeing him sitting in the front row of the Marriott Center cheering for BYU. I probably went to most BYU home games between then until the mid 90s and Elder Perry seemed to be there more often than not. His son taught at BYU in the business school. He's a huge BYU fan despite what USU fans like to claim.
