Default WAC signs ESPN deal extension through 2016 season

Not enough info here to really mean anything. But I'm sure it's better than having no TV deal, and possibly better than having a really crappy deal with a network no one has heard of.

one thing I read was the WAC gets one Saturday game per year. One for the whole conference. That doesn't exactly sound too great. The rest of their games will be on odd days but there are stipulations about how many times a team can appear on an odd day.

Last week the SEC signed a $3.03 billion deal with ESPN and CBS for the next 15 years. That averages out to $17 million per team per year. Yes folks even Ole Miss will receive $17 million every year.

Hey but make a BCS bowl and you'll get about $1 million.

Any word on whether the WAC's deal with ESPN is in the b-b-b-b-billion range?

The MWC doesn't have a deal with ESPN.

The trick is to grow the population in Utah and the West. And then we will have big contracts.

Mississippi population = 2.9MM
Utah population = 2.6 MM

Sounds like Mississippi gets a sweet ride.
