Default Palin passes interview test swimmingly

The sine qua non of everthing seems to approve of her overall performance.

Also, overall the press thinks she did fine despite some shaky moments:

I haven't seen the second interview yet, but this probably sums it all up best:

The Chicago Sun Times’s Lynn Sweet judged that Gov. Palin passed her test, presenting herself as “steely and supremely confident” even though she stumbled at times. Ms. Sweet noted that she “kept herself out of major trouble, and that was her most important goal, first do no harm.”

Someone either last night or this morning said that her sticking to the briefed up answers reminded her of the Obama of the early Dem debates.

Again, going into the weekend, Palin wins the day.

I wonder why no one was quizzing Bush this way eight years ago. Especially since he was running for president. I was struck by his singular inexperience back then, in addition to the fact that he had a hard time uttering a declarative sentence. I'm chagrined to see how sexist the world really is. Surpasses my worst fears.

who do you think makes a better president. Senators or governors?

Again, generally?

in person at fundraising events. Let's just say he's more comfortable in a setting where every word isn't being parsed by the media. Ask anyone who has been around him in a different setting.

Compare and contrast with what Hilary is like behind the scenes and in public. Close friend was in the FBI......the stories surrounding Hilary are amazing.

One certainly is better in public than the other.

This is the legacy of 9/11. We saw the world differently before, as a much less dangerous place. No one really thought we were at serious risk (very few of us anyway) so the stakes weren't as high.

We now all realize, at least subconsciously, that the stakes are pretty high. Bush wasn't elected during a period of time when the bulk of our military was deployed. I think this fact alone may answer the question.

If what you are pointing out is that we should have been quizzing him this way, I agree.
