You keep trying to make this post about you and something you posted. If you feel guilty about something, address it. I am not referring to anyone specifically. This is a comment made frequently on CG.

This one not so good. Please try again. Use Cougjunkie's current one as your example.

I don't feel guilt. At all. I asked the question out of genuine interest.

If you say you aren't directing it at me, I believe you. I'm simply addressing the part I played in your topic. Feel free to accept or reject it as such.

I am curious, now that you understand what I am getting at, to what extent do you agree?

*Sigh* I understood what you were getting at before. I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing in principle, but rather suggesting that you misunderstand the intent of these posts when they are made.

To the extent that someone asks such a question WITH THE INTENT of wanting someone else out of the church, obviously I think it's a bad thing.

This is the thing that drives me nuts about Utah. Because we tend to live in such close proximity, there seems to be a tendency towards 'competitive righteousness'...where individuals try to appear more righteous than their peers.

The same thing, of course, occurs outside Utah too...it's just the fact that with the higher population density it seems more prevalent here than elsewhere I've lived.

I don't try to appear more righteous, I just don't want to give someone an excuse for doing something they shouldn't because they saw me do it.

I like to do/say things to appear less righteous than I really am. Helps the rabble feel less bad about their current state in life.
