what personal self-sacrifice. trading her privacy for a senatorship. such nobility has America rarely known.

yes, well, I suggest (for you Clinton haters) that this is that here's the answer to the question "what's worse than a Clinton?" A: a Kennedy.

No kidding. The worst part about them is their presumptuousness. But Americans oblige them. I detest a herd mentality maybe more than anything.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

What would the world be like if all people were like SU and detested and rejected the herd mentality? Would they be a herd b/c they all rejected the same thing? would human society survive b/c it needs collectivist thought in many areas to survive? Would everyone be their own prophet?

I hate the Kennedy's because they have such a sense of entitlement to political office. And the Clintons have the same sense.

Wouldn't it be great if Paterson passes over Caroline now that she has so publicly placed her hat in the ring? It would be a strong rebuke. I'd interpret the slight the way that would make me most happy: Just b/c you're a damn Kennedy doesn't mean you get any political office you may desire. Work for it, bitch.

I agree. If she wants to run, and people elect her because of her family name, so be it, but for her to be slotted into there because of it is far more galling.

But I would like to see a woman get the seat.
