Default BYU vs BSU

Wow. That was exciting and fun. So many twists and turns in that game.

Mangum sometimes looking like a true freshman, sometimes like a seasoned senior.

BYU inexplicably running the ball with no success, only to have it be very successful late in the game.

Nacua really being the player of the game with his three interceptions.

BSU's offense was not very good as BlueK predicted. But it was almost enough for BSU.

Johnny Football seems to be a fairly mediocre punter so far. Hope he improves. He couldn't turn field position one time.

My friends and I were there. It was a great atmosphere though BYU tries to fill every gap with inane events. I know they are for the sponsors but they detract a bit from the game.

I don't believe your criticism of Lineham is accurate; it would be more accurate to state BSU had an outstanding game from its punting team.

The running game did better once they started featuring Hine as opposed to the other runners.

That's a deliberate strategy. Keep running the ball, even with no success, until the opposing D gets worn out towards the end of the game.

We've seen that a lot. When it doesn't work.

3 and outs, time and time again are generally bad strategies. 2 running plays followed by 15 minutes rest don't wear anyone out.

I don't remember when it didn't work but I remember the times last year when it did.

Anae didn't start doing that until after he returned from Arizona.

Yup. His YPC has been high historically. Idiots on CB are all saying he "finally figured it out," (Just last week he averaged 9).

Hine is a good change of pace back, but I don't really like him as a primary back. He's only going to make one cut and then run as fast as he can. No waggle. But he is fast and he's the best we have. He's just not that great.

Brown has shown very little. Esp. not shown much coming out of the backfield catching the ball. Carter's not shown anything.

It's Hine or bust. But it's going to be a position of weakness IMO.
