Default BYU vs. Houston

the team and Taysom Hill didn't pass the eyeball test tonight.

Hill is still good and really a great athlete. But he looked awfully one dimensional against Houston. I think his Heisman stock took a HUGE dip tonight on national TV. So did the chances of playing a top bowl game.

Too bad. Team just wasn't prepared, didn't want it enough.

Team jumped out to a 23-0 lead before it fell flat. It lost Tejan Koroma on a bogus call and just played flat. After the big week last week, not a huge surprise but still disappointing.

Houston has no credibility after their blowout loss to UT San Antonio. Although UTSA may be better than most people think. But UTSA will not be challenging for a top bowl even if they were undefeated.

That hail mary touchdown was disappointing. Ball hanging up there and not one defender moves forward in front of the receiver. FAIL.

One gets the feeling that if BYU faces a defense who can stop the run in their basic sets, without committing an extra defender to the box, that BYU will struggle. Some of Hill's passes last night reminded me of early 2013. Inaccurate. Late.

Hill better stop reading the press clippings and start concentrating on getting better.

Jamaal Williams was a bright spot. Bills in the secondary was a bright spot as well.

In the past, BYU would have lost this game. That is a bright point.

Hill still completed 61.1% on a down night. He was not sharp as he was on other nights, but he still gained a bunch of important first downs.

The receivers save Leslie have been disappointing this year. Has Apo even seen the field? Blackmon is not what I had hoped for.

Hoping Kurtz will be a valued addition.

Bills and Leavitt both played rather well.

Mitchell Juergens, a high energy, smallish guy made two mistakes on one play.

Apo was in for at least one play. That's a bright spot--Apo not playing. Means we have better players on the field.
