Default Went to the new IKEA in Draper today

good night that place was a zoo. It doesnt open until wednesday but i know a guy that is a manager there and he gave me a friends and family pass for today. I cant imagine how it is going ot be like when it actually opens.

The check out line was 45 minutes long. It is a pretty cool set up though if you like furniture.

A neighbor of mine who is working there said that they're expecting 20,000 people on the first day of the grand opening.

I don't know what the big deal about IKEA is. It's just a furniture store.

They've had them in Texas for years.

Ikea has super low prices because you assemble everything yourself. So in other words, you are not paying for someone else's labor.

With Utah being the most frugal state in the nation, and most households having several boy scouts in need of something to do on Saturdays, Ikea should have a good run there.

Well then, if assembly is required, I shan't be shopping there. Not because I don't like low prices, but because I am incompetent when it comes to assembling anything. It took me a good three hours to put together my 8 year old's bike and even then, I didn't do it right.

I am with you on that one. I am horrible at assembling things. I bought my daughter a plastic Playskool house and i got so frustrated i threw it down the stairs the thing was like 6 huge plastic pieces. My dad comes over and throws it right together. We bought some things at IKEA today and i invited my parents over for dinner tomorrow night little does my dad know he will be assembling some new furniture.

Sometime you guys should remember to empty the whole box. Inside they have this little booklet that gives you step-by-step, illustrated instructions in English and several other languages.

Btw, Ikea instructions do not use language. THey are just pictures.

But they're pretty easy.

It's good if you have a fancy ergonomic allen wrench, if you are putting something together that is large.

I don't really care for the IKEA furniture, but I do like the gadgets they have for the kitchen. Inexpensive and durable.
