Default BYU baseball 2014

Why so bad this year? 7th in the WCC.

I thought they had a new coach and everything had turned around.

It's nothing but bad news for BYU sports.

They lost their best 3 players from the 2013 team to the MLB draft, but even then I didn't think they would have dropped down as much as they did last year. Law left a huge hole though. This coach I think has started to improve the recruiting. It just takes some time at BYU because of missions. I think they'll turn it around in the next season or two.

Good. I remember in my youth when BYU baseball was good and was occasionally on ESPN (back when ESPN broadcast more of the fringe sports).

BYU just signed a major college baseball recruit from San Diego -- non-LDS. He was also recruited by California, Oregon, LSU, Texas, San Diego State, UCLA, Arizona, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and the University of San Diego. Coach Littlewood may be starting to get the program to turn the corner.

So I guess the minor leagues could take him away first.

Possibly, as every good program has to deal with that. In the article he says it would have to take a lot of money, which would mean getting a big signing bonus. That only applies to those taken in the first couple of rounds. Everyone else has to wait until making the big leagues before making very much in pro baseball.
