Default I don't understand McCain's argument

McCain often talks about how the American people need to have their trust in the government restored. He talks about how he learned his lesson from his failed immigration bill, that the people spoke and they want the border secured first. (Duh!)

If this is his argument, why in the world would we entrust someone who's been in the Senate for over 20 years to restore our trust?! Hello? I don't recall ever hearing McCain lead any sort of movement to get the fence built on the border which Congress authorized to be built a few years ago.

McCain's argument probably rests on the fact that he has actually been one of the congresspersons who has actually fought againt pork-barrel spending. Consistently.

As well as having been one of the Keating 5. He knows the problems because he has been one of the problems.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

There's a reason no other candidate will bring up the Keating 5. Because it has no legs, and McCain has been a tireless fighter against corruption in Congress.

He said he has never added a SINGLE earmark. How many other senators can say that?

Come on Waters! You're obviously not up to date with the current McCain campaign talking points. The argument rests on McCain's claim that he is an agent for change in DC because he is the one responsible for the surge.

This is a pretty lame argument for why he is the one that can change Washington. Come on McCain...you've been there for over 20 years, and the surge is the only thing you can point to?
