I think one could make a decent argument that instant replay hasn't changed things much as far as "getting things right", and that it takes up too much time getting (or not getting) there. Yes, they sometimes get it right, but I'm not sure it's often enough to make it worthwhile.

On the play that's causing all of this replay in baseball talk, I'm not sure you could even overturn the call. You can't see exactly where his hand is under the catcher foot, and doesn't the ump signal "safe" before the tag (after the cather had retrieved the ball)? To me that'd be the equivalent of blowing the whistle as Holliday had time to get back to the bag.
