Funny message board moments
What's your favorite message board moment?
I definitely enjoyed Brian's earlier postings on Cougarboard. This is one of my favorites: http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...html?id=662168 I also liked grapevine's classic thrift store posting: http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...html?id=258817 Seattle Ute posing as a BYU fan is still very funny: http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...html?id=367588 |

Nothing beats the DI trifecta. Best message board post in history. It gets more funny everytime you read it.

Can you summarize the Bernard hoax. I wasn't reading the board at the time and I've heard a million references. |

We were bored and wanted to mess with Bernard, so we started floating rumors of some big announcement that was coming up re:byu football. People who were not in on it started claiming they heard that too (trying to convince people that they really did have sources) and it even got mentioned on local sports radio. The day that the supposed announcement was coming, there were several board members who had skipped vacations, taken long lunches, etc so they could be online when the announcement came. That link I gave was the post making the announcement (it gave what is now a dead link to bernard4heisman.com) on a site that had tons of photoshopped pictures of bernard, fake quotes from famous athletes/coaches , etc. It all started out as a way to just mess with bernard, but it really ballooned and there were a lot of pissed off people that had been speculating what the announcement would be for the previous week.

ewth8tr posted these both of Kugr Maniac which are priceless:
Kugrmaniac post after everyone was messing with him calling him a homophobe/etc http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...html?id=239643 Kugr explains why Melaleuca is not a MLM http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...html?id=751827 Seriously, him spending 40 lines explaining how he was not a homophobe: "Having grown-up in Los Angeles and lived and worked in Europe, I like to think of myself as fairly worldly & well-travelled, and I have NEVER, EVER heard "catapult" or "tailhook" used to describe a homosexual act." That is great stuff...when did he EVER work in Europe, anyone know? I also love anyone that goes down the road trying to explain how your company is not an MLM. I haven't heard him mention Melaleuca since...anyone want to ask him know if he believes it is an MLM? Last edited by UteStar; 06-26-2007 at 03:31 PM. |

This line from Kugr was awesome: "I have NEVER, EVER heard "catapult" or "tailhook" used to describe a homosexual act." Man, he must live in a box, I have always heard people say--"Last night was so hot, I totally gave him the catapult, followed up with the talihook...if you know what I mean!" |

"Tailhooks" & "catapults" refer to naval aviation, NOT some homosexual act, as someone here was actually ridiculous enough to suggest!!! ARE YOU KIDDING US ALL??? Have you never seen "Top Gun"... |
