Not at all. I'm a big fan of what Elder Ballard and the PAC have been doing with the media. They are spot on.

I like it too. Brethren should continue to counsel those posting to be civil and empathetic while discussing Mormonism.

Based on what I read on the pastors4Huckabee blog that was posted here last week, doesn't look like we can show any worse than the Evangelicals are in this discussion. We can generally spell and use correct grammar and don't take joy in condemning everyone to Hell. Those are plusses.

I think most can tell the difference between bad/fast typing and ignorant writing. I'm guilty because I know I use bad grammar sometimes when I'm typing fast and rambling and don't feel like correcting such as this sentence.

But the posts by the Evangelicals on that blog were horrible. Pashionate? Counterfit? etc.

I should mention that it pains me that creekster was wondering if I was being facetious.

Do I really come off as that negative?

Don't read too much into it. But sometimes you do like to bait folks (as do we all) and I don't like to be baited, so I asked. Besides, you're the media guru, so I thought it possible you saw something in the statement that I missed.

The Church is making it's best media moves since Grandin printed the Book of Mormon. There are risks to be sure, but my professional judgment is that the Church is making the right call.

Interestingly, the article is silent on members using the "new media" to attack the Church itself, or its past, or its leaders.
