I cannot imagine why.
Now I'm just being insensitive here, but it certainly is a blind spot of mind, but two guys wanting to hump doesn't bring tears to my eyes.
Gay sex is about where you want to stick your pointer. Otherwise, comradery is fine. Many of us prefer moments of male bonding as long as it doesn't involve using the unit. I'd sooner cut mine off than stick it somewhere it doesn't belong. Yes I intellectually recognize some people have SSA. I'm more sympathetic of it for women, than I am for guys. However, a movie based on two guys having unfulfilled love just doesn't sound interesting. Please explain it intellectually, not emotionally as I usually just keep anything but my sarcastic emotions in check. In reality, most movies about unrequitted love don't interest me. French literature is replete with them. Who cares about pining away about what might have been? Shuck it up and be a good soldier. Geeze. Your feelings are not your friends.

I have no desire to see this film - not because of the subject matter, but because I'm tired of most everything that comes out of Hollywood.

it makes you
a contrarian, or an artist, or whacked.
Artists are experience freaks. Anything to experience something new. Hey, I'm all for that, but I stop before adultery and gay sex. No thanks. Travel the world, seek new adventures, examine weird thoughts, okay. Watch gay men hump? No thanks. In reality, I don't want to watch hetero sexual couples hump, as humping is really not meant to be a spectator sport.

I see the Utah film critics have given BM the highest rating of the year:

Intellectually please explain it's appeal.
Is it the Banned-in-Boston syndrome?
Geeze, art critics say its good so we must all agree? Cowboys partaking of forbidden love? Do we next see a film about a cowboy and his pet sheep? Will PETA protest or support that one? Is it taking animal love too far?

Animal-human love too far?
You obviously haven't seen King Kong yet. |

but as far as I could see there wasn't any penetration of body orifices.
It's the penetration thing that creeps me out. And most people won't admit it. Gay relations are about weird penetrating sex. The non-sex parts aren't gay. I have many buds. We do many things together, partner in finances, talk sports, go on vacations and do other things. Yet none of us ever would do anything as much as slug one another. Okay shake a hand, pat a back but much more than that we'd freak out and go find us the next cute gal to squeeze just to make certain we're men. And there's only one person who gets my engine started and it's none of my buddies. So I will never understand wanting to misuse one's unit. Especially if I were an aetheist. Nature created sex for self-perpetuation and then people starting using it for other purposes. So people start using it for a purpose which could never achieve its initial purpose. Go figure.

I wonder if Kong had the slightest inkling that 'it just wasn't going to work out.' |
