Cali Coug has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Default Colin Powell to endorse Obama!

If true, this is a big get.

And he is speaking on Wednesday night, the same night the VP will speak. Coincidence? Probably, but it is intriguing to consider.

yeah, it's been anticipated that he'd finally make his endorsement official. I mentioned the rumors a couple of weeks ago in the thread about Mitt, and my comment was met with (understandable) skepticism. But it's looking like he's really going to come out of the closet (so to speak) and was I'm absolutely giddy! So far every Republican leader that's crossed over, the detractors have said, "yeah, but he's a nobody." Well try to "nobody" Colin Powell, whydoncha.

Are you suggesting an all Bro's ticket in 2008?

I am DOWN for a trip on that Soul Train of Love. I will have one ticket, please.

I have to think that Condi is wishing she had jumped out sooner, too. She is going to make a fortune writing a book about working for that nitwit (GWB).

nut as well? Because if he isn't, why would he support a lightweight like Obama who has no experience, his solutions will only cause more problems and a financial nightmare, and our world will be less safe.

I didn't think he could go any lower than his UN presentation on the threat of Iraq. I guess I was wrong.

This is like when a hated rival goes to your favorite team in sports via free agency. The old team fans suddenly hate him and the new team fans can't stop singing his praises.

Does this mean that the NAACP will no longer consider Powell a token of the GOP Nazis?

I'm surprised no one has made the observation that's begging to be made.

If true, then it appears that Powell is as vulnerable to Obama's sophistry as he was to George Tenent's.

I believe you allude to this in a later post, but detractors will of course point to race on this one. And, I should say, not completely without cause. It is an interesting question, what does race have to do with smart, conservative people like Powell and (supposedly) Rice and Watts being brought into Obama's sphere. One would be silly to say Race has nothing to do with it, but I think one would also be silly to say, as I think I read on Cougarboard earlier, "Race trumps conservatism". As I said, it is an interesting issue, but one, in the middle of a political campaign, that can't be easily addressed.
