I answered yogurt because I used to work with a bunch of black folks and they almost all thought I was the strangest person alive(which may be true but not for the reasons that they said) for eating yogurt, which they thought was some sort of strange, unpronounceable, disgusting substance.

Seriously, a bunch of them had never heard of it. The notion that many black folks don't eat yogurt was further propounded by the fact I shopped in an area that was 99% black and there was no yogurt in the fully stocked grocery store.

Of course, many native southerners don't really understand yogurt either. I had a year long argument running with the white people I worked with who used to mock me because I ate yogurt for breakfast every day. They claimed that it was a dessert food. I told them to leave to us Scandinavians to figure out what to do with yogurt. I just wanted to eat in peace, but they wouldn't let me.

Interesting... You know one time an African American checker commented on my yogurt purchase. She said could not understand how anyone could eat the stuff. I figured it was just a matter of personal taste. I eat yogurt every day too. Three cheers for live and active cultures!
