Default Is taking an I.V. cheating on Ramadan?

So I'm watching the USC vs. Washington State game. One of the defenders on the Washington State team is a devout Muslim currently observing Ramadan.

The announcers were commenting on how he is not eating or drinking during daylight hours, but is taking iv's. Is this cheating??? I'd say it's probably ok. Admittedly, I am not a Muslim and really have no basis upon which to judge Muslims on their devotion to their faith.

almost every islmaic expert believes that taking iv as analgesics , antibiotics , chemotropic agents ..and basically whatever which isnot categorised as nutritious would be fine.
