Likewise; plus, the missus has adopted a strange if welcome policy of preparing cinnamon rolls, mountains of bacon, scrambled eggs, etc., for General Conference that, coupled with a very lax dress code, makes for an excellent morning.

As a kid in the early 60's Bay Area, I'd watch the morning session on channel 7 but my mom made us dress up as if we were going to church, and we had to sit up on chairs--use of the Barcalounger was verboten. My kids enjoyed a somewhat more laissez-faire approach, although this could explain why one ended up at the U.

LOL. We too enjoy cinnamon rolls and eggs and bacon. We also play a sort of LDS drinking game: We have bingo cards with various gosepl terms and the first one to get bingo gets some sort of candy or treat my wife has made. That church were always so easy.

1:10 avoid porn
1:5 be nice to your wives
1:3 the women in this church are pure and holy and way above the men
2:1 do not fear the economic crisis; rather pay your tithing and have faith in God
2:1 many of you wonder what the official stance is on homosexuality. Without answering the question, here are some broad and vague statements from the old testament
3:1 families are central to God's plan and parenting is the be-all and end-all of life as we know it
4:1 when I played football at the U, they called me "swifty"
6:1 I love serving in the Primary, and I love coloring and exclamation points

This sounds like something Tex would do.

Do you guys also participate in the opening and closing prayer when you re-watch old conference talks and devotionals from decades ago? I had a roommate that would do that and for whatever reason, it weirded me out.

Any chance they'll say something that will get the board in a dither? I would love it. But I figure that with the Palin pick and Prop. 8 tanking they'll be pretty humbled for now.

I'm excited to see which talk will spawn weeks and weeks of CG hand-wringing. Will it come from a longtime hated nemesis, like Boyd Packer? Or will it come from an unexpected source, like Marlin Jensen?

I'm ready to see shot birds flutter again.
