There is no substitute for talent. I think that you will have to agree though that the 3-3-5 is fundamentally flawed, especially for us due to the fact that it relys so heavily on blitzing and corner play. We will always be "average to poor" in this aspect. This goes along with your argument.

My problem is the big plays that are given up. We could have played a complete zone defense, rushing four and given up points, but maybe not so quickly. I was disappointed in how quickly we gave up the points. A running team should never be able to come back on you that quickly. How often does a team like TCU score 21 points in a quarter? Quick strike passing teams have a hard time attaining that .

Allowing the opponent 5-10 yards a pop is much better than 15-20! That would have shortend the game and we would have had a better chance at winning IMO.
