As a rookie, he seems like a perfect third down pass rusher type guy...in which case I would take him on the Redskins in a second. The skins did just receive a second third round pick and need pass rushers. Could be a good fit!

Kehl is talented, but he is not at the level of an Urlacher. Nowhere near it.

While I don't believe Bryan will have the success that Urlacher has had, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for him to be nearly as good.

Kehl vs. Urlacher Combine results:

Weight: 242 vs. 258
40: 4.64 vs. 4.59
Bench (225 reps): 26 vs 27

I can't find any other info on Urlacher's combine results (and don't particularly want to look all that hard), but you get the idea from these three stats.

First of all Urlacher ran a .5 second faster 40, which is a lot. He also did it at 258 pounds, 16 more than Kehl, Urlacher is also a MLB and Kehl will be an OLB. I think Kehl will have a nice career but he is not even close to Urlachers level if he was he would be a first round pick.

A .5 second difference in a 40 results in all of a foot & a half difference in a 40-yard run. Negligible, IMO.

Again, Bryan was extremely close to Urlacher in all the measurables I could find. I don't find it likely that he'll have Urlacher's success in the NFL. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he will be nearly as good.

You need a refresher course in math.

Let's compare someone that runs a 4.8 versus a 4.3.

The person that runs a 4.3 40 is running at an average rate of 27.9 feet per second; the person that runs a 4.8 40 is running at an average rate of 25 feet per second.

At the end of 4.3 seconds, the slower person is 4.3 * (27.9 - 25) = 12.5 feet behind.

Actually, I meant .05 seconds - the difference between a 4.59 40 & 4.64 40 is .05 seconds.

Cougjunkie threw me off by quoting the .5-second difference, which I failed to correct. I did my math based on 4.59 seconds at 40 meters/4.64 seconds (8.62 meters/second) = 0.43 meters difference. Which I rounded to 1.5 feet.

Forgive me for not including all my work.

The numbers he put up earlier indicated a .05 second difference, not .5 seconds.

Edit - What he said.

If Urlacher DID run a 40 .5 seconds faster than Kehl's, that would be a truly amazing sub-4.2 time.
