And as terrific as Williams has become, I believe Stock would have made him cry.

no player has ever made deron cry, you hold stockton in too high of regard. No pg in history would make deron "cry" as you put it.

Williams has never faced a PG of Stock's caliber. Would you be one of those who was 10 when Stock was in his prime?

No PG in history? It's you who holds Deron in too high of regard. Il Pad is right, Stock would make him cry and Magic would make him say uncle.

Stockton is one of my favorite players and one of the best pgs of all time, but he wouldn't make Williams look silly. The 97-98 jazz teams were much better than this year's team though.

There is a big difference between outplaying someone and embarrassing them.

Stockton had the benefit of playing with one of the greatest power forwards of all time in Karl Malone, while DWill has the benefit of playing with a Good Power Forward in Carlos Boozer.

There were 2 Hall of Famers on the Jazz.

Right now.....DWill if he stays on current path for another 7-9 years is a Hall of Famer, but Boozer isn't and will never be close to sniffing the HOF.

This current Jazz squad isnt even above 500 on the road.

Again, enjoy the nice season, but lets not get carried away.

I agree.

This Jazz team is still young and on track to improve and will be Contenders for the next few years.

They're at the same spot the Jazz were at just a 1-2 years prior to Stock and Malone reaching the Finals.

For a few years they struggled to win on the road, but were dominant at home...and the pretty soon they became a great road team as well.

I suspect this Jazz team will continue to get better. If they have a winning record on the road next year they're likely to have the best record in the league.

I still think the Jazz are one piece away from contending seriously...not sure what that piece is, though. But it would likely be a defensive piece.

Sans injuries, I would be shocked if the Lakers were not everyone's pre-season favorite next year.

The Jazz are clearly onto something good, though.
