Default NL West

Well, having a competitive division was fun while it lasted. Do we know who the D-Backs will play in the Division Series yet?

On the plus side, it's very nice to see the Giants finally giving youth a chance. They've got a solid group of new guys that should be very competitive in a couple of years.

Oh, and Barry Zito sucks.

Zito sucks but a pitching staff of Cain, Lincecum, Lowry, Sanchez, Correia and Mitsch is awesome.

Yeah I had some hope for the Dodgers but that's fading fast. But my A's are hanging tough. And God bless Billy Beane for trading Zito despite my protests.

Lincecum has been lights out, very fun to watch. And aside from a couple of flameouts, the bullpen has been much better than I was expecting. Pitching is definitely not a problem.

I'm excited about some of these new guys. Bowker appears to be a solid player. And having the speed of Velez and Burriss may keep us in a few games.

I like Velez, Also Rajai Davis and Fred Lewis are solid options but at 27 they are not "up and comers" anymore.

Baseball manager is probably the most overrated coaching job in the world.

Do you mean that the job itself is overrated? or the impact of a manager's decisions on the outcome of a game is overrated?

On both counts you are terribly wrong, but interested in which point you were erroneously trying to make.

Hell - you could make a good case (albiet pointless) that a baseball manager affects the outcome of baseball games far more than any other coach/manager of any other sport.

I can't respond to this line of thinking, as it's impossible to respond to someone who doesn't understand.

It would like you responding to me saying something like actuaries are unnecessary.
