Default Mitchell Report released tomorrow

It purportedly contains 60-80 names. It's going to be a fun day on ESPN.

Also says many of them are MVPs and All-Stars.

My predictions:

Barry Bonds
Big Mac
Jason Giambi
Roger Clemens
Curt Schilling (hypocrite)
Gary Sheffield
Ivan Rodriguez
Eric Gagne
Man-Ram
Jeff Bagwell

My predictions for being clean..or at least not caught:

Derek Jeter
A-Rod
Randy Johnson

I don't know. Buster Olney was reporting on Mike and Mike today that he doesn't think it will be as devastating as most think. There are already 65 players or so who have been implemented or punished for roids. His feeling is that there won't be 60-80 names on top of those.

I think the biggest fallout from this tomorrow will be with staff rather than players. There's going to be a bunch of trainers out of work tomorrow and some other team personnel. But I'll be paying attention tomorrow.

I like your list DDD. There's a big part of me too that hopes Schilling pulls a Palmeiro tomorrow.

Mitchell has to come up with something after all these months, so while I agree that it isnt going to make baseball crumble, I do think there needs to be some revelatory value in the releasing of the report...or else, why all the buildup? It isnt a book, so there are no sales to drum up.

Clearly, the biggest fish is Bonds, and I think it will simply confirm what everyone already knows about him. I also think that we will see a lot of guys (hopefully on my list!) that are implicated, but vaguely. In other words, perhaps there is evidence that Clemens did fail 1 steroid test--not enough to end his career, but certainly enough to force Congress to get involved and get tough on the Players Union.

I think this is going to be as good as when the Clinton Grand Jury transcripts were finally released for the public to read. Except instead of cigars, it will be syringes.

If I had to narrow my list to a Top 3 wish list...I would say Bonds and Sheffield. Both are a-holes.

Giambi already admitted, so his name wont matter much now.

Well, the news is saying MVPs and All-Stars. Would you care to list other MVPs and All-Stars that would be considered tougher, riskier predictions?

Sammy Sosa, maybe? I guess I didnt put him on my list.

The Mitchell Report is only of value if it busts big names. Nobody will care tomorrow if it shows that guys like Alex Cora and Shawon Dunston took steroids 4 years ago.

The guy who hit the Pittsburgh Pirates mascot in the head. He seems like a likely candidate.

I agree with both of your lists.

Add Brady Anderson and Matt Williams to your doped list.

Add Jim Thome and Alber Puljos to your clean/not caught list.

I think you mean Randall Simon, the Pittsburgh Pirate, who hit the Milwaukee Brewer mascot...the sausage, as it ran around the bases.

Technically, it wasnt even a mascot, as the Brewers let fans run the races while wearing the costumes. I think you have to win a contest or something to run the races.

Simon hit the sausage with his bat.

Speaking of Pujols, do you remember this bizarre Nike commercial from several years back? Pujols has the coolest mask, I think. Urlacher got the shaft with the barbed wire cube. And I have no idea what is going on with Mariano Rivera.
