Me too, but not until next year. I just got the 305 but I really like that I could swim with this one. We will see in a year.

Man, that is an impressive little piece. I can't think of anything that they left off of it. I like that it looks more like a watch than a grandfather clock, and also that it has all of the bike options available.

Did it say that it can be used for swimming, or is it just water resistant? I would be a little nervous taking a $300-400 watch in the water unless I knew for sure.

From Garmins Website,
"The Forerunner 405 is water-resistant (IPX7)"

IPX7 is submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes, so no I would not be swimming with this.
Also after researching a little bit there are features missing that would make me hesitate switching from a 305 to the 405, like the one button switch from run to bike. This watch seems a lot less multi-sport than the 305.

Maybe the 505 will allow me to swim......
