Headlight reviews?
Anyone recommend any headlights for early morning commutes? I'm going to start riding in to work now that the weather has turned....and it will require me to get up before their is much light.
Anyone have a headlight that they could recommend? Thanks in advance. |

Ok, thanks.
Read your review of the Performance light. $200.00...a bit high in my price range. I was looking at the Blackburn System X4 headlight system. Know anything about that? I definitely "want" to be seen, however, I don't want to be running over pot holes, and branches and who knows what else because I can't see.... Looking for a good mid-range priced light. What do you know about the Blackburn lights? |

Steal a set of landing lights from an MD-11 at your local airport.

Nite rider makes a good, affordable helmet mount light.
http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...slisearch=true This one is currently on sale for $89, and is a very good light. One of my buddies uses it several times a week. Rechargable battery lasts 2-3 hours at a time. For $200-300 you can get a very good light from NIterider that is quite a bit brighter and will last 2-3 times as long between charges. |

If you are looking just to be seen, and not necessarily to see rough roads or trails, just drop $15-20 and get a handle bar mount CatEye. Its a great light for road riding, not so good for mountain biking.

Hmmmm....good suggestion. It might take some serious effort on my part, multiple tries, and require multiple mounting positions until I get it right...but I shall give it the ole college try!
Will report back on the effectiveness of my efforts and the fine adjustments I shall have to do for the headlights. |

Initially, that's what I thought, too, but it turns out they are real.
