Hopefully next year will be a stronger on for America. I'd like to see an all-American team.

I'd also like to see a black and asian American on the team someday as well.

WHy are you so jingoisitc?

There are not many blacks in road cycling, this is true. But Steel, I bet you haev see at least one; do you recall Nelson Vails? He won an olympic medal, as I recall. Unless you meant live. There are a couple black guys around here that ride and there is one guy that is quite fast and has a beautiful black colnago c-40 that I lust after. I see him quite often when I am commuting.

I don't recall ever, be it on tv or in person, seeing a black road cyclist. I don't remember Nelson Vails. I've done Solvang with 6000 riders and I remember realizing I hadn't seen one black man or woman riding in the event.

I don't live in SF, but nice try. I wasn't trying to be impressive. Are you projecting, perhaps?

Only here is it controversial that someone would wish for an African-American in the peleton as well as an Asian-American.

What are you talking about? Nobody thinks it's controversial. We'd all love to see it.

How quickly we forget the great ones. How about Jerome, Muzzins first lieutenant.

How did this thread go so wrong so quickly?
