Default Rising stars lining up for the Ute job

Three years ago Hill had to beg for a marginally qualified candidate, because nobody wanted to follow a legend. Now we see the true stature of the program as the rising stars are lining up for the job:

Hmm, I had never heard of any of them before today. "Rising stars" I guess is the cup-half-full way of putting it.

Utah's in a very unique position for a "rising star" as you put it. Two losing seasons in a row. One of the best returning centers in the country with some other decent, young talent. Plays in a weak conference where a 20 win season is pretty simple. Bring in some JC guys. Win 20 next year. Win 22 or 23 the next year and make the tournament, and you're off to your next gig.

If I were a rising star coach, Utah would definitely be on my list.

Although I love ribbing the Ute fans, I think a strong Utah is good for the conference, and therefore good for BYU.

I wish New Mexico, UNLV, Utah and BYU were perenially strong, as they were in the past.

Not being one of the "power" conferences which is code word for "BCS" we are lucky to get 2 bids....

Was the pac-10 that much better than the mwc? Besides UCLA would any other pac-10 win the mwc? Yet they got what 6 teams including a crappy stanford in?

One of the strangest facts of the year is that Utah beat a 3 seeed (Wazoo) and a 4 seed (UVA) this year.

How often has the MWC/old WAC not received more than the one auto-bid?

Hey SU, how did you go from complete despair to total rapture about the hiring so fast?

I assume now you are back to complete despair.
