Default Andrea Yates are her Not guilty verdict

I saw an interesting interview with her ex husband. He talked about how he was relieved when Yates got the Not guilty verdict. It was rather surprising because he had some, obviously warranted, harsh things to say about her when she was arrested for drowning their kids. Anyway, he talked about how she was truly in need of help to get her thru her 'insanity' and that this verdict was the best thing for her and his family.

He mentioned also that he has visited her over the years and talked. He said they often talk about their children and talk about how much fun and how wonderful they were. He said they cry and they laugh.

As outsiders, we are so quick to judge someone we do not know or have no knowledge of the situation. For a husband to forgive his wife (hate what she did and later divorce her) or at least understand the lost state that she was in, well, is pretty remarkable. I would have to say that there is a nice place in heaven for a person like that. In regards to Andrea Yates, I just hope she gets the treatment she needs and hope that she receives the comfort that she will obviously need as she continues to remember the horrible tragedy of the day she killed her children.

I think it is impossible to find fauly with the husband. His world was irreparably shattered.

As for Andrea, I think what she did is the very definition of crazy. I also think that she will suffer for what she has done, and rightly so.
