I would say the answer is "no". Looks like a full-fledged crisis is coming, if not already arrived.

I knew things were screwed up when my brother's crappy house in SLC next to a halfway house, doubled in value a year after he bought it.

I don't live in Utah obviously but every fourth Mormon I know owns a spec home out there somewhere. I wonder how many of these foreclosures are a loss of investment rather than a loss of someone's home.

Bingo. It seems that every empty lot and chunk of agricultural land was under development last year. Now they all sit empty. With some of them the curb and gutter is half-finished. Some are half full of big McMansions; almost all are spec homes and they are in various stages of completion. As I drive around I wonder how any of the banks will survive.
