Ha! This could be a natural lead in to one of Goats fabled stories of yesteryear. Did you have to wait until they all left before you could get out of the water???

For a couple of RMs who had only been home for two months it was a eye opener. It hurried up the adjustment period.

So...let's see...option #1 or option #2?

Option 1 - Sawtooth Century -
To start out riding here:

...over the top of this summit:
http://www.philmages.com/thumbs/ID08...y%2075.tif.jpg
....and riding to here:

...and back again.

Or, Option #2- The Ulcer -
...starting the ride from here:
http://www.lifeinthevalley.com/image...ving_point.jpg
...around here:
http://users.adelphia.net/~fewhaley/pics/UtahLake.jpg
...past here:
http://www.confluence.org/us/ut/n40w112v4/pic1.jpg
and back again.

Have I dissuaded anyone from doing the Ulcer and joining me in Idaho? And come on...with a name like "Ulcer"...there has to be something behind that!
Sawtooth looks pretty and I would love to do it, but I must go with the century I committed to first. I have already given my word and I must honor that. You should do the same. See you 8/11.

I'm glad I wasn't there, as it may have slowed down my eligibility for temple marriage.

No, and you will mercilessly lampooned and ridiculed if you do.

Is that kinda like: "I must honor the code".

Well Pride...this is more of a "guideline" than a rule.

It's a simple choice really. I could be watching Arch's tail end waving goodbye to me at the 15 mile mark, or, I could be in line with two girls I've known since high school who teach aerobics at the gym.

Now, in all reality, their tail ends could be waving goodbye to me at about 15 miles as well, but, at least it will be a lot more pleasant parting.

Presented with the current choices, 10 times out of 10 I'm going with the two hard bodies and kicking Archaea in the shins and running away to ride another day!

(I still might take him up on holding him to the Sawtooth ride...IF I should have a temporary brain cramp and sign up for the Ulcer)
