A question as to what ethical and moral responsibilities corporate executives and BoD's have and how they balance that with the above would be a different discussion entirely.

I put "responsibilities" in the question intentionally.
The responsibilities of a corporation include making money for shareholders within the bounds of the law, providing accurate and transparent financial reporting to investors and owners, etc. |
