Took the new Brooks on a 5 miler today. I really liked them a lot. My first pair of running shoes about 4 years ago was a pair of Brooks, and I hated them. They felt like boats on my feet, and they were heavy. It's weird, but these Adrenalines feel very compact, if that makes sense, and the cushioning was good, though I don't know they're any better than most other shoes in the price range.
They did feel a bit lighter than what I have been running in, though. I have a "dead legs" phase at the start of every run, where it feels like I'm running in mud. It usually lasts about 2 miles or so before I loosen up. It didn't seem as long today, which I think may be due to the shoes being lighter. So overall, I'm happy. No signs of blistering anywhere and my arches felt very supported. I'll stick with these Brooks. |

I joined the Brooks crew and bought the Adrenaline's. Can't wait to use them.

Sorry I am in the Mizuno camp. No kickback for me.

I also wear Brooks, but I'm a cheap bastard. I buy last year's model. I picked up a pair of Adrenaline 7s for 53 bucks. I'll upgrade to the 8 next year.

That's what I did. I was going between the adrenalines and the trance and when I saw them for about 40 bucks cheaper I went with the adrenalines. I also tried on the adrenalines first and knew what size to order and didn't have that opportunity with the trances.

You sound like me. I recently bought 2 pair of the Brooks Radius 7 because I could get them for 49. It is comforting to know that when the current pair wears out that I have some brand new ones waiting for me in my closet.

I've got the Addidas this year, and like them. The Brooks were wonderful but the cushion didn't seem to last too long. The Addidas only cost me 60 bucks through a friend discount.
