Why do you supose it is good discussion? I would think its because we don't have to fear how we are expressing ourselves.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. But weren't you the one who said that you usually use jerk as a one word fits all description? I don't personally swear a whole lot. I don't think that anybody on this site swears much.

As far as why the discussion is good, it's because the quality of posters is good. I don't think there is a fear of expression on the other site. There is simply a suppression of many good discussions there by moderators. It usually has absolutely nothing to do with language.
The truth is that I have not called anyone a name in a long time, I wouldn't say really long time because I have not lived a really long time yet.

On the discussion topic, I don't really think we are that far off on our opinions. I agree with what you're saying, I just think that part of it is being able to say what we want to say. The same posters are on the other board in many cases, but they often don't last long.

robin you are the definition of arbitrary....

as far as you eliminating taboo out of you and your familys life, you just create different kinds of taboos....being intellectual liberal, a progressive, free thinker, enlightened individual doesnt mean you squash the 'tabooness' out of your life you simply create taboos that the general society consider normal....

You say that you don't have arbitrary morals, but you base them on your own personal authority. You say that you have no problem with sexual promiscuity, as long as he can defend himself.

So he is 17 and decides to sleep with a 14 year old girl. Is that a kind thing to do since he most likely is much more mature then the girl. Do you not respect the rights of her parents? How is this not arbitrary?
