Default Cummard

I anticipated Cummard like other Cougar fans, thriving on the hype of his AZ high school career.

When he showed up, I was disappointed to seeing skin and bones in person. He scored 30 or so in his first exhibition game, and while I wasn't yet sold on his game, it was exciting to see.

I soon grew tired of his cockiness his freshman year and little game to back it up.

This year he's earned my respect the hard way--with defense and unselfish play. Now I love the guy. Wyoming's coach called him the premier perimeter defender in the MWC.

From being turned off by his cockiness, now one of my favorite things to watch is Lee's 3 point signal after he makes one: raises two hands (but not high above his head) then snaps the wrist and fingers down to signify the made shot--like the free throw motion fans do on made shots but not the whole arm down just the wrist snap. I LOVE IT! His 3 from the corner was huge last night.

I'm not sure Lee will ever be the team leader or even a go to scorer, but he's a key piece of the team over the next few years.

That's my testimony of Lee. The spirit was prompting me and I had to share.

I'm still laughing at Senioritis: "Lee McBeal."

When all is said and done I think Cummard will be regarded as one of the top two or three wing players ever to play at BYU. He might not ever be the flashiest, but I think he could end up (we'll see in two years) being the best ever at his position in terms of well-roundedness as a player. He did make one mistake in transition on that charge last night, but dang that kid does nothing but impress.

Dude, I thought you loved me...I told you, and everyone else, that he was the best perimeter defender in the MWC after I watched him dismember Brandon Heath. Why do you need a meth addict Ratt to tell you the obvious?

Lee is the best all around player at BYU. Personally, I think that next year he will assume more of a prominent role in the offense and I think he will be the MWC POY as a senior.

Very good days to be a BYU fan. Live it up folks, glory is so fleeting.

These are much better days, but after so many days in the valley of the shadow of death, I'm concerned about too much giddiness, as failure is but a free throw away.

Most likely a graduation or honor code violation, but I will be giddy for the both of us. I say ride it like a porn star when it presents itself.

Well, why on earth would you pursue happiness if you have no intention to enjoy it? What's the point?
