so im reading d & c and im not understanding....
the use of the plural form of life in a couple of scriptures.
i know weve discussed the adam god theory extensively here but i was wondering why this scripture was never referenced in the discussion.... why does the lord use the word 'lives' in verse 24 and 55 of section 132? the appropriate word should be life, unless he is trying to say something else. http://scriptures.lds.org/dc/132 |

I don't believe your construction is necessarily
compelled by those verses.
55 appears to refer to the plural because the antecedent was plural. 24 if it refers to the pronouns in 20 and thereabouts could also refer to a plural antecedent.

....
55 could possibly be referencing multiple people thus multiple eternal lives...
but i think 24 is referencing a singular person thus the use of plural would be wrong, unless there exists a covert meaning.... 23 is the preface and is speaking to one person, and 24 continues with the discussion on the reward if the singular person in 23 is convict.... |
