I just got some Shure E3C earphones
They were a gift. No way could I drop $170 bucks on some earphones, but let me tell you that these are the sweetest things on Earth and a must have for any audiophile.
The noice cancelling on these things are amazing. I plug them into my mp3 player at a moderate volume and I cannot hear anything but the mp3. I cannot wait to use these on my next flight or road trip. I could not hear the conversation at all in the room. In fact when I gave them to a friend to try she didn't believe us that we weren't talking and she was almost yelling when she had them in her ears because she couldn't even hear herself. They fit like a charm and are more comfortable than the E2C's which I have tried but work just as well and are much cheaper. Much smaller profile though on these. I give two thumbs up, way up.

I finally broke down and upgraded to the Bose QuietComfort 3 Headphones... best $349 I've spent in a while. Since I fly so much, these are a dream... anything I *do* hear sounds like it's "in the other room"... screaming kids, grand ma's scared of flying, "talkers", or any anything else annoying.
