Default cool zen alcohol stove I made

http://zenstoves.net/SimplifiedZenStove.htm

It looks like the picture below, when you are done. I was very impressed.

Easy to make, very functional. Bullet proof. I highly recommend it. Almost, but not quite, makes me wish I hadn't bought my zip stove.

I used a small 3oz can of SPAM spread and an aluminum can. That's it.

We have burn bans going on down here in Texas due to the drought, so learning how to build backpacking stoves will come in handy for my (poor) scouts.

I am having a hard time believing that there hasn't been significant shock and awe at my new backpacking stove. This is a tough crowd, no doubt.

Did you make yours with the inner wall? Did you use a primer pan? What kind of fuel do you use in it? After you light it, how long does it take for the jets to pressurize and start shooting flame?

Your stove is pretty cool; however, it would be cooler if you had shown us a picture of the stove you built instead of a picture off the website. But what do I know? I'm just a BigFatMeanie

Sorry, Mike, but it takes a lot more of a fire hazzard for me to be impressed.

Thanks for that link. I now know what my oldest boy's science project next year is going to be.

Yes, I made the inner wall. I tried it without the primer pan, and it worked, but it took a couple of minutes for the jets to light. If you use the primer pan (pour a bit of alcohol in the pan and light it), it only takes 15 sec or so to get going.

I'll photograph it. Maybe tomorrow.

Ok, here is my stove. I had the small aperature lens on, so I wasn't able to take an in-focus picture.
