Do they make shells large enough to cover a tent of that size? If not, you could always purchase a large tarp to cover the tent with just in case.

It really sounds like the Greatland tent will work just fine for us due to the fact it's not going to see an abundance of different elements. I'll be sure to go to REI if we plan a trip to the Gobi... Tent heater sounds like a good idea too.

We bought a big-@$$ Kelty tent at Costco a few years ago. These aren't top of the line, but they're better than Target brand tents, and it was for about the same price. Of course, I don't think Costco always stocks these tents, but it may be worth checking out.

I'll have to check it out. We have a little 4 man coleman tent from costco that has withstood the rain well. Thanks..
