The coming flu pandemic
http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/Inve...1130392&page=1
I feel a little like the guy holding the sign "the end of the world is coming", given that I mention this every once in a while. This is very, very scary. This qualifies as a situation where if you are not prepared, it will be like having not gotten onto the ark. America, under Bush and Leavitt, is among the least prepared countries. We have secured enough medication to treat less than 1% of our citizens. Scary. |

My biggest beef with Bush is that he seems much less concerned with domestic problems than in what advances can be made overseas. I don't know his agenda, but I don't think caring for his citizens is at the top.

Domestically, he acts like a Democrat
you're just reading the press who hates him.
Show any spending projects he's vetoed. You won't find any.

I read the book 'The Great Influenza' about the flu epidemic during WWI. It was a great read, but got me worried if the flu does another mutation like that.
AIDS is nothing if bird flu gets going. That is some scary stuff. People were dead within 72 hours of contact. The healthier you were before hand the worse it hit you because your body killed itself in fighting back. It also did help that at the time most people lived in suck close quarters, (army barracks, the big cities). |
