I have seen it happen in two different wards. And Elder Ballard counseled bishops to lighten up on the issue at a recent leadership meeting. Apparently, he must feel it is significant enough of an issue that it needed to be addressed.

Personally, I would love to see the priest try to take all the trays of water in his hands before saying the blessing.

Everytime I read through the D&C, "the kneel with the church" bit sticks in my head. I think I'd like doing it.
