Default Creationism vs. Evolution: "...after its own kind"

Why do the scriptures repeatedly use this phrase, especially in light of the fact that this phrase is pre-Darwinian?

I'm inclined to believe that evolutionary forces were more limited in scope than mainstream science would indicate (micro vs macro evolution). In other words, homo sapiens were not the eventual offspring of paramecium.

I only provide this link to explain the basic concept of micro vs macro evolution, and not as an exact representation of my views on the subject.

The link I provided wasn't mainstream science. I said that mainstream science believes in macro evolution.

My in-laws believe that the dinosaur fossils came from other worlds that were used in the creation of the earth - come to think of it, I remember my parents telling me that when I was little.

I don't believe it, but I bit my tongue.

Why do the scriptures say God separated light from darkness before he created the firmament and the sun?

We have, what, four real scientists here? Waters, Lebowski, Sooner, and Brian. Any others? I'm sure they all believe in the mainstream science view of evolution. I'd be shocked if they didn't.

You can't square the Genesis accounts (and there are two) with science. You have plants growing on the earth before there's a sun.

Going back to the actual topic at hand, why does the Bible and Pearl of Great Price repeatedly use the phrase "after [its/his/their] own kind"?
