Default Parents sue to treat son's cancer with natural "remedies"

I'm pretty sure I have mentioned a similar case. A pediatric heme/onc doc in Houston, evaluating a boy with leukemia, parents refused treatment despite a 90% chance of survival with treatment, and low chance of survival without treatment.

So the doc filed a report with CPS.

Doc was sued by parents for filing report, and case dragged on for years. A lawsuit can be quite disruptive in a person's life. After many years, the plaintiffs lost the suit, and the law firm that brought the suit was effectively bankrupted as a result. All this per the doc, firsthand.

This doctor saved the boy's life, and for his efforts, suffered greatly.

The medical team and the doctor, took great relish and joy in the part of the story where the law firm went under.
