The climate change scaremongers were wrong...

I'm far from an expert on this and I'm prone to side with environmentalists more often than not, but I'm seeing more and more of these articles. My doubts have really grown since I read the transcript from a debate (I posted it on here a long time ago but am too lazy to look it up), hosted by Brian Williams, between the two sides, in which the anti-"global warming is a crisis" scientists thoroughly cleaned up. Maybe the global warming people think they have this one in the bag (maybe they're right...) and they therefore don't engage in these things, or at least don't put forth any significant effort, but if they continue to ignore this stuff, they're going to lose support.
I'm skeptical. And I'm typically an ally. |

I, surprisingly, have the man-made global warming conversation quite a bit seeing as how I'm at fault and all. I'm by no means a science doer guy, but I have studied a bit of history in my time and whenever some long haired hippie freak gets in my face about it I ask them to explain to me why, during the late medieval period, Vikings were able to colonize Greenland and why were they no longer there.
Anecdotal I know, but that one fact more than anything has caused me no end of skepticism about man's role in this whole thing.

According to this study, Greenland had similar melting during the 1920s. I don't think its a stretch to think that the glaciers also melted during the medieval warming period.

"Remember that little period of time called the Ice Age - you know, when the earth was pretty much frozen? Remember that?" "And remember when it got warm and the ice melted? Remember?" "Explain how that happened, please. I don't remember learning about too many coal plants or mammoths and saber-tooth tigers driving SUVs around and melting the ice."
