Archs reply in a previous thread got me thinking about this. Really, is it possible, men being what they are...to be a friend to an attractive woman without ever thinking anything sexual, or sexual overtones in the back of his mind.

Thoughts?

I would tend to think women can/could be friends (as a true friend) with a man...but I think it would be hard for a man to reciprocate in the same manner.

But that's just it...you didn't get the intent of the question. You are saying you have to "control ones drive". Meaning, it is there, and the thoughts and intentions creep in, but you supress those thoughts.

So, your answer is "no".

What does that say about us men, as a whole. I wonder why that aspect always has to be there.

Without the procreative urge, would you spend time with women, who are not your daughters?

I would, if they were interested as I, in intellectual pursuits, athletic pursuits or blowing things up, but because they aren't and because their emotional needs don't parallel mine, I wouldn't but for that instinct. There would be no species but for that instinct.

Yes they can, but it has nothing to do with a man being able to control himself. It has to do with attraction and that attraction has to do with more than physical looks.

I know from experience I have had girls who were friends who I was not sexually attracted to who were actually better lookin than some of the girls I was physically attracted to.

I will admit, those situations are rare.
