Yep. When I am able to in a little later I sometimes just go all the way to 75. But traffic is hit or miss at any hour going that way.

Liar. There is no such thing as a 15 minute commute in Southern California.
Mine is the time it takes me to walk downstairs to my den.

The surrounding areas near downtown are not nice, so you wind up buying 30-60 minutes away...or more. South County is a desireable place to live, so most people live close to work. The short commute is one of the reasons it is expensive to live here. The schools are another reason.
