Default Alrighty then, Utes and Cougars play Nov. 22 this year...

would it be in poor taste to play a lot of this band before the game?

Personally, I think the U should play this song right before the kickoff.

Its never in poor taste to play them.

Although you went with the later lineup with DH Peligro on drums.

I was partial to 6025 or Ted.

I had a dead kennedys shirt in jr high school. It was one of the first music t shirts my mom let me buy. I didnt tell her what the "DK" stood for, though.

True, that was a later lineup. But that is probably my favorite DK song.

I knew you would know who the band was. Well done.

You can't fail to mention one of the most overplayed punk songs of all time....yet still one of the best...

That is one of my favorites.

I need to holiday in Cambodia some day. If my wife won't, how'd you like to go?

Now that Pol Pot is gone, not sure the trip would be as fun.

One thing that I had always wanted to do was to go up to him and say, "I am so excited...I dont know whether to call you Pol Pot or Saloth Sar!"

I bet he hears that one a lot, but it is still funny.

It's one of those things that is always funny - like seeing a guy get hit in the groin by a golf ball or Three Stooges movies.

These are eternal verities. I hadn't seen a Three Stooges movie or short in years, although they filled much of my idle time as a lad. But while cleaning out a box of old videos recently, I came across a collection of Stooge greatest hit DVDs that a loving sister had given me a few years back and which I'd never opened.

I watched a couple with my youngest, thinking my advanced years and wisdom would make the viewing experience dull at best. I was wrong. Among the shorts was "Pop Goes the Weasel", which my son thought was one of the finest cinematic works he'd seen in his fifteen years. Stooge sound effects are unsurpassed in their entertainment value--truly an aural ambrosia.

i prefer years that the rivalry game is thanksgiving weekend. it's easier to schedule travel to Utah and it really could become a cool tradition to have it that weekend if they'd schedule it for that Saturday every year.

Yes, the Stooges set the standard for sound effects and nobody has been their equal. To me, there are very few things that are funnier than the sound of a guy getting poked in the eyes or bonked on the head with a 15 pound dumbbell. One can hear the influence of the Stooges in sound effects in the cinematic gem called Strange Brew when Bob wakes up Doug at the brewery and their noggins collide.

And Pop Goes the Weasel is a masterpiece.
