Jeff Lebowski is on a distinguished road
Default Middlesex

I just finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides.

This novel won the Pulitzer in 2002. I had heard lots of good buzz about it and had it sitting in my nightstand for quite a while. I finally got around to reading it and was happy I did. What a terrific book. It is about three generations of Greek immigrants, the narrator being a hermaphrodite in the third generation. The amazon blurb has a good overview of the plot, so I won't go into any more detail than that. The storytelling and character development are superb. A long book, but I savored every bit. Highly recommended.

Anyone read his first novel, The Virgin Suicides? It is supposed to be quite good also.
