My proposal for new track events.
I would like to add the 50m, 75m, 125m, 150m, 175m dashes.

Why the over-emphasis on dashing? The Jamaican dude would be weighted-down in gold by now.
How about 100 m race-walk? 50 m carrying a tray full of beverages. 1 km walk with dog and pooper scooper. 2 km random walk. 10 km hike with 30 kg backpack. |

The 200m gunny sack race, the 50m egg and spoon race, the 800m coed three legged race.

Why the longer distances? Why not shorten it up and really open up the field to as many people as possible?
I submit for consideration: 1M dash: basically who can pop out of the starting blocks the fastest. Up to 100 people per heat, 10 heats. In the earlier rounds, winners are determined using the honor system. 400 x 100M relay: 1.5 hours of non-stop sprinting at full-speed. Lots of room for error passing the baton 399 times. After the race, the 3 winning teams grab 1200 flags from fans in the stands and then everyone mugs for the camera and proclaims, "We're #1!" or "Silver, baby! Silver!" 1500M Steeplechase: except the runners would use actual horses on the synthetic track. Opens the medals up to more traditional equestrian powerhouses. Countries like Jamaica lose their advantage. 26.2 mile intermediate hurdles: we all know Kenyans and Ethiopians can run. But I am sick of everyone saying that they run like "gazelles." Let's see them act like gazelles and jump over intermediate hurdles over the course of a Marathon. Laser Tag: I know this isn't a race, but the US needs to get a solid laser tag team put together for the London games.
