Default 24 getting stale?

This is the first season I've watched on TV.

I watched the first five seasons DVD style over the past year. I think 24 works better that way then waiting week to week.

I'm starting to feel like the show's getting stale. We know key characters will die. We know there's a mole. We know Jack's going to torture everyone. We know Jack will go in and out of getting captured and escaping. We know there will be a gov't conspiracy.

I love the show but for the first times last night while I was watching, I was thinking yawn been there done that...

That was largely a waste of an hour last night. However, it appears they sacrificed last night to set up a bunch of different things for next week. At least, it appears that way...

I still love '24' but there better not be a mole in CTU. It was interesting in a couple of past seasons but we do not need it in this one.

The Arab chick. Come on, it's obvious.

So, little Audry Griswold (from Vegas Vacation) grew up and went to work for CTU.

Clark and Ellen must be proud.

There's always a few of those episodes each season. Next week looks to be pretty good, we'll see.

They need an Obi-Wan/Yoda moment where President Palmer sees an apparition of his deceased brother who then guides him on the correct course of action.

I thought last night was great.

There isn't a better show on TV.

I just finished the first season and I was honestly a bit disappointed. I think it was a case of something being so hyped up that I had unrealistic expectations for it, and got too bothered by the plot inconsistencies, random disappearances of characters, and implausible story line.

My wife and I both enjoyed the first 12 episodes of season one and then thought it fell off dramatically. What we're hoping, and help me out with this, is that it was a case of the writers having their big intro all polished and ready, hoping to get a renewal, and the quality dropped off as a result. So we're hoping that subsequent seasons are an improvement.

Still a better show than many out there, but I don't find myself craving it the way I do other shows. Partly I think that's because I already know what I'm going to see--someone trusted is a bad guy, Kim's gonna get caught again for the 14th time (at least in season one), stuff is gonna blow up, people are gonna get shot, and Jack is going to take it all out on someone.

For me, watching 24 is like eating a big plate of brownies. You're on a sugar/adrenaline high, and have to keep watching the next episode (We've only seen the first two seasons on dvd) but there's very little substance or character development.
